Welcome to the UMass Amherst University Disability Services Note Taker Program

We're thrilled to have you as a participating note taker for Disability Services. This semester, we have begun partnering with Luvo to enhance our note taker program.

How You Benefit from Being a Note Taker

  • When you upload your notes to Luvo, they are instantly shared with Note Taking Coordinator at Disability Services so they can be accessed by students with a documented disability and an accomodation need for notes.
  • Simultaneously your notes will be posted for sale on Luvo for other UMass Amherst students. You set your own selling price and earn 70% of each sale. Luvo will send your payment for all sales every Friday by 5:00 PM EST.
  • Luvo provides you with an additional opportunity to provide assistance to other students who need accomodations while also earning money to fund your education.

How to Get Started

  • Go to luvolearn.com
  • Click on "Sell"
  • Click on "Upload a Note"
  • Label your note with the Title and date of the lecture (i.e. HIST 100A September 8).
  • Set your price. Daily notes typically sell for $2.99, study guides for $10, but you are free to charge whatever price you think is appropriate
  • Click "Finish and Post for Sale"
  • That's it! Your notes have been posted to our department, for the student with the accomodation and for sale to your classmates.
  1. Complete the registration form on the right
  2. On the next page add the courses you will be the note taker for by using the drop-down menu.
  3. Make sure all the courses you'll be the note taker for are listed and have a green check mark by them.
  4. Log onto the UMass Disability Services website www.umass.edu/disability.  Click the Clockwork button, select "note takers", select "course notes", log in with your SPIRE ID# & password, complete the profile, agree to the terms, and enter the courses you are providing notes for on Luvo to complete the registration.

How to Post Your Notes

Students & Faculty take note:

All notes must be student-generated content.  Luvo has strict policies on plagiarism and intellectual property and does not allow faculty or textbook content to be uploaded for sale.
