Finding Odd Jobs For The Summer

0

A lot of students utilize the summer to make cash for the upcoming semesters. If your summer gig just isn’t bringing enough in, you can always opt for odd jobs to bring in some extra cash flow.

Check out some of the ideas the Flashnotes.com team came up with for you to try:

  1. Helping someone you know clean out their garage. Cleaning tasks such as cleaning a garage can be daunting. Spread the word that you’re willing to help out and they’ll be sure to throw a few dollars your way for your time and effort.
  2. TaskRabbit. Check to see if the service is in your area. It’s basically a website where people post tasks they need to get done but can’t make the time to get around to. TaskRabbit is a great source for them to create a post and offer money to someone who can help complete their errands or tasks. SCORE!
  3. Stop by your previous job and see if they need an extra set of hands for a couple of hours. Not only do they have prior experience with you, but they’ll be super appreciative for your interest to come back and give a helping hand.
  4. Cutting the Grass. You can get entrepreneurial and workup a database of clients for the summer (and make this your gig for the summer) or you can offer to cut your parents grass and anyone in need for a few bucks here and there.
  5. Sell snacks at local sporting events. Contact coaches and ask if there’s a market for your culinary skills. Just be sure you know the type of food needed as many teams don’t allow sugar-filled treats.
  6. Create a blog. Find something you find worth talking about (something that sparks an interest in you) and monetize your blog by finding sponsors who find your content interesting.
  7. Wash windows. Start in your neighborhood and see who needs their windows washed. You can make this a full time summer job and promote yourself with flyers and social media posts.
  8. Walk dogs. Help out pet owners by saving them a trip home in the middle of the day to walk their dogs.
  9. Tutor children. Tutoring young kids can be an awesome and yet satisfying experience, especially knowing you’re helping someone in need.
  10. Lemonade stand. There’s nothing like a traditional lemonade standing during the summer. Find an area with some major foot traffic and post up with your lemons, lemon squeezer and some ice.
